Psychology Curtain Wall Replacement

This project is replacing the aging Curtain Wall system at the Psychology building. The replacement Curtain Wall will preserve the historic aesthetics of the Psychology building. Pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be slightly affected but access will be maintained. Signage will be posted to direct pedestrian traffic and alternate accessible routes will be available.

July 10, 2020

The following events are scheduled to take place next week, July 11, 2020 through July 17, 2020 for the CSULB Microbiology HVAC Upgrades Project: (NOTE: No weekly update was issued last week due to July 4th holiday)

Upcoming Construction Activities that may affect adjacent buildings next to the Microbiology Building

The following activities will take place next week and may cause noise. These activities will not be a constant noise, but will be at random short intervals and is not anticipated to be at a level that would be disruptive.

  • Phase 1 - Punch list correction verifications for exterior soffits and HVAC system to continue through next week.  An exterior punch list walk occurred for Phase 2 interior finishes and architectural features for painting, soffit and louver installation.  Punch list item correction for these limited items are ongoing through next week. Installation of hallway lights at the Ground floor to completed. Phase 2 HVAC system commissioning ongoing through next week. Fire Alarm system completion walkthrough with the State Fire Marshall complete. Soffit ceiling panel installation complete on 1st and ground floors.  Soffit louvers installation for missing 15 panels ongoing through next week on the 1st and Ground floor. CSULB punch list walk for Phase 2 Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing occurred today.

The following activities will take place next week and will cause noise. We will keep a diligent watch on the noise that is emitted in order to keep it under Campus regulations.

  • Phase 1 Work – Punch list corrections for the Architectural and HVAC systems ongoing through next week. Painting on all the exterior surfaces complete, punch list corrections scheduled for next week. Phase 2 commissioning of HVAC system to continue through next week. Installation of the remaining 15 louvers on the west hallways at the 1st and Ground floor ongoing through next week.  Phase 2 punch list walk for the MEP scope of work occurred today. Contractor is demobilizing their trailer and fencing through next week. The project is scheduled to complete on time for July 21 with commissioning and system monitoring ongoing through December.  CSULB move-in to Phase 2 spaces scheduled for July 22.

This next week all deliveries to the central quad will be scheduled between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M.

  • Deliveries will occur during work hours throughout the week.

There will be work this weekend.

  • Contractor will be not be working this weekend of Saturday July 11.

The following events are scheduled to take place next week, March 21, 2020 through March 27, 2020 for the CSULB Psychology Building Curtain Wall Replacement Project.  If no objections, because the construction is complete, the Weekly Update for the Psychology Curtain Wall Replacement Project will cease after this last update.

  • Contractor will monitor the refurbishment of the Corten panel surface over the next year. PPFM signage plate installation continuing through next week.

The following activities will take place next week and will cause noise. We will keep a diligent watch on the noise that is emitted in order to keep it under Campus regulations.

  • Swinerton will be monitoring corrections on the exterior Corten panel correction over the next year.  PPFM signage plate installation ongoing through next week.

This next week all deliveries to the central quad will be scheduled between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M.

  • No more construction deliveries scheduled.

There will be working this weekend.

  • Contractor will not be working this weekend of Saturday March 21.
