Visiting the Center


The Anna W. Ngai Alumni Center is a state-of-the-art, technologically advanced venue that boasts 5,492 square feet of meticulously designed and beautifully crafted event space.  

Conveniently located on Beach Drive, the Ngai Alumni Center may be rented for meetings, receptions, and other social events. 

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM


Alumni Center Policies

• Event rental spaces must be used for the purpose agreed upon when making the reservation. 
• The Alumni Center welcomes Guide or Assistance animals utilized by guests with disabilities in accordance with ADA regulations. All other animals are prohibited at the Alumni Center facilities. 
• CSULB is a tobacco-free campus. No smoking or vaping is allowed, and this applies to events taking place indoors or outdoors at the Anna W. Ngai Alumni Center. 
• No balloons are allowed inside the building. Balloons are allowed in front of the building and in the Molina Plaza (outdoor courtyard) 
• No glitter is allowed inside or out. 
• No signage, banners, messages, or other materials can be posted, displayed, or distributed without the prior consent of the Alumni Center staff. 
• Nails, staples, or tape may not be used to affix anything to walls, floors, or windows. 
• There is no storage available. 
• The size of the group and the type of function must conform to regulations as set forth by the CSULB office of Environment, Health, and Safety. 
• Set up/Clean Up requires a minimum of an hour at each end. This time must be included in the required rental time. Please allow additional time for large-scale events. 
• Tech – Must have discussed the tech required at least 5 days in advance and have a plan in place for any additional media (music streaming, static image for tv, etc.) 
• After the event, the Alumni Center facilities must be returned to the same condition in which they were found. A map will be provided for your reference. Cleanup and removal of all materials and decorations brought into the Alumni Center is the client's responsibility.
• Catering leftovers must be cleared out completely from the center before the organizer leaves. We do not provide takeout containers. You might be able to request from caterer in advance. 
• All grilling and use of portable grills is prohibited. 
• At the end of the event, the client must remove all equipment and décor from the Alumni Center. All trash must be placed into the trash and recyclable receptacles provided. 
• The Alumni Center will not be responsible for any items remaining on the premises. 
• All equipment brought into the Anna W. Ngai Alumni Center is the reserving entity's responsibility. 
• A post-event walk-through is required and must be completed by Alumni Center staff on duty and the client or caterer before departing premises. 
• Any sound amplification must be kept at a courteous level and be in accordance with all University sound policies. All music and amplified sound at the Alumni Center must be discontinued by 10 p.m. 
• The Alumni Center must be fully cleaned and locked by 11 p.m. – with all participants vacated.  


Preferred Caterers


Please select ONE caterer from the list of campus Pre-Approved Caterers under Event Resources - Catering and Food Trucks by visiting the following link: Event Services | California State University Long Beach (csulb.edu) Only those caterers appearing on the list are approved to provide catering services to the Ngai Alumni Center. Outside caterers are not permitted. No external food or beverages may be brought in for your event.

Alumni Center Parking 


Parking is enforced 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week including holidays. If parking on campus, some form of Paid Parking is required. Our campus utilizes License Plate Recognition (LPR). Please have your license plate information ready when purchasing your parking permit.

Short-term parking is located in Lot E1. The nearest lots to the Ngai Alumni Center are G1 and G3
