Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, Correctional Training Facility, Soledad (ret.)

After 13 years working in California State Mental Hospitals and Prisons, Yvonne Cryns retired from the Correctional Training Facility in Soledad. She held an RN position at Atascadero State Hospital and was a first Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (along with another CSULB classmate) at Coalinga State Hospital and at the Correctional Training Facility. She was an Adjunct Clinical Nurse Educator for Behavioral Health with Fresno Community College. She was appointed to the Forensic Psychiatric Nurses Council Steering Committee (2015-2018) of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association. Yvonne holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University, a Juris Doctor degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law, and a Master’s in Nursing and a certificate as a Nurse Practitioner from CSULB.
