ATS Faculty Professional Development Programs are designed to meet the diverse needs of CSULB faculty according to feedback gathered from our work with individual instructors and campus partners including Faculty Affairs, FACT, and Faculty Champions. We’ve incorporated best practices from established models of online course design curated by our experienced instructional design team.
Programs are built with an integrated support framework that includes guidance on the application of internationally recognized online course standards, a wide selection of unique course enhancement workshops developed by ATS, coaching sessions with instructional design experts, and one-on-one mentorship with CSULB faculty peers who have advanced levels of online teaching experience and certification.
Each program is a discrete learning opportunity, sequenced so instructors can gradually expand upon previous work and make continuous refinements. Additional support is available for faculty interested in pursuing course certification or greater involvement in the online quality assurance community at CSULB and beyond.
All programs will be repeated throughout the year so faculty will have ongoing opportunities to work towards their goals.

This program will introduce online course standards adapted from the internationally recognized Quality Matters rubric, selected specifically to meet the needs of current CSULB faculty. In "HyFlex" and Hybrid instruction, instructors can deliver their classes in traditional classrooms, but students may attend in person, participate synchronously through video conferencing, or watch recordings of the class sessions at their convenience. Sometimes referred to as “Zoom Rooms," CSULB Hyflex classrooms are configured to support video conferencing and lecture recording with a variety of screen-sharing options.
