Position: Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering (Electronics/Mechatronics/Robotics/Power/Controls)

Effective Date: August 17, 2020 (Fall Semester)

Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience


Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Degree at the time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2020 
  • Specialization in the area of Electronic Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Robotics, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Sensors, Signal Processing, Power, or Controls
  • Potential for effective teaching at the college level
  • Record of or demonstrated potential for successful research, scholarly and creative activities 
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level
  • Experience in teaching courses in the area of Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Sensors, Signal Processing, Power, or Controls
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise student projects and theses
  • Demonstrated ability to develop programs and curriculum
  • Active participation in academic governance


  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in, or related to Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Sensors, Signal Processing, Power, and/or Controls, as well as fundamental Electrical Engineering courses
  • Develop curriculum, supervise graduate students’ theses 
  • Develop an ongoing research program which complements and enhances research activities in Electrical Engineering and leads to publications and external funding  
  • Engage in service to the department, college, university, and community as appropriate
