I. WITHDRAW POLICY.
You will be given the College withdraw policy. Please review this carefully.
It is your responsibility to understand these policies. Note: Take careful
account of your progress by the 8th week of semester. If you feel uncomfortable
with the basic aspects of microscope operation and tissue preparation at
this time, you should consider withdrawing from the course. Previous experience
has indicated that it is not feasible to catch up and complete the course
during the last few weeks of class. Incompletes are given only under extremely
unusual conditions.
J. MAKE-UP POLICY.
The scheduled laboratory demonstrations and experiences can not be readily
made up. Since the majority of the grade is dependent upon the acquisition
of practical skills, attendance in scheduled labs is required. The lecture
exam and lab practicums can be made up or rescheduled ONLY under the following
conditions:
a) Arrangements are made a week or more prior to the exam for important,
unavoidable conflicting activities (e.g. doctor's appointments, job interview,
etc.). Supporting documentation is required.
b) For illness, personal tragedy, or unavoidable emergencies, call me or
leave a message with the Biology Office (310-985-4806) before the exam or
within two days thereafter.
Contacting me about make-up exams is your responsibility. Failure to follow
the above guidelines will result in a zero grade.
K. CHEATING/PLAGIARISM:
Cheating and plagiarism are in violation of the California Administrative Code, Title 5, Section 41301. CSULB has adopted a specific policy with respect to the
violations of this nature (see the Bulletin or Schedule of Classes). Any student in violation of this code and policy in any
assignment or examination related to this
course shall be subject to the options specified in the policy statement. This may result in the student receiving a failing grade in the course or, in
certain circumstances, being expelled from the University.
