Funding
has been provided from a grant from NIH to
develop a web-based database running a
“cold-fusion" front end through a server
environment to a Microsoft SQL Server 2000.
WesTech,
the Internet Division of Wareforce Inc. has
been retained to develop the web-based interface and
database. Data file transfer from instruments
in the Molecular Toxicology Laboratories will be
downloaded to the server and
dynamically sorted to provide a number of searchable
fields for efficient retrieval of the data via the
intranet or internet. The system will have a
total memory of 1 Terabyte and is being designed to
maintain the functionality of the file types by
retaining the associated extensions and definitions
to allow their subsequent analysis by specific
hardware- resident applications.
Backup will occur automatically via a mirror
server and via a DVD R/RW jukebox.
