Display Mode:
Text: This will be disabled soon.
Formatted-text: Good for slow connections. Uses normal characters to display math. The problem is that large or complex math expressions may not display well.
Typeset: Default mode. Math symbols are images.
You enter the answers using calculator syntax: +, -, * for multiplication, / for division, ^ for exponents, sqrt for square root (or use fractional powers), abs for absolute value. The program understands that spaces means multiply as well: 2 x is the same as 2*x.
Preview Answers to make sure the order of operations and parenthesis are doing what you think!


The program displays


Here, the point of the problem is to see if you can get the correct number, so the program won’t evaluate it. That is why the error message “Invalid number format”. The default behavior is to take any input, evaluate it, and submit that number (or expression).
Ans 1 was replaced by -36, Ans 2 was replaced by 118, and Submit Answers was clicked.
You may try again to solve for m and click the Submit Answers or Preview Answers buttons again. The default behavior is to let you try as many times as you want.
