Step 2 Role play

(Be paired and prepare for the conversation. The following is the situation. You are supposed to prepare for both roles. At the time of the oral performance, the role will be assigned randomly.)

Role A

You ran into a friend whom you haven't seen for a long time. You are very happy to see him/her. Greet him/her and ask how he/she has been doing.

Ask your friend where he/she has been. Is he/she studying or working. Where is he/she studying or working? What is he/she doing? Ask him/her about his/her daily activities.

After exchanging information, tell him/her that next Saturday happens to be your birthday and you are going to have a celebration  and invite your friend to your home.

Be prepared to answer any questions your friend may ask you.

Feel free to add anything you want to say.

Role B You ran into a friend whom you haven't seen for a long time. You are very happy to see him/her. Greet him/her and ask how he/she has been doing.

You are studying Chinese at CSULB. You get up at 6:00. You have class in the morning. You go to the library in the afternoon. In the evening you study at home. You like watching TV and you often go to see Chinese movies.

You friend will celebrate his/her birthday. You surely will go. Feel free to add anything you want to say.
