Asian Languages and Literature -- Lecturer Full-time

The Department of Asian Languages and Literature at the University of Washington invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position in Chinese Language. The initial appointment, starting Autumn Quarter 2004, is for three years, with the possibility of renewal. Applicants should have the M.A. degree in Chinese and training in Applied Linguistics, Foreign Language Teaching, or another relevant area. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Chinese language at all levels, to develop teaching materials, and to train and supervise teaching assistants.
A letter explaining qualifications and teaching philosophy, a curriculum vitae, sample teaching materials, evaluation of teaching from students, and three letters of recommendation should be sent to:

Priority will be given to complete applications received by December 1, 2003. Finalists will be asked to submit a videotape demonstrating teaching ability.
