on the Net
- This site maintained by the Internet Public Library,
provides links to various association websites. It is arranged by subject or you can
search by title.
- Encyclopedia of Associations
- Available in print: REF HS17 .E52
- This source can help you find local chapters and links to
organization web sites for identifying appropriate interview candidates.

- Findlaw Directory of Government Officials
- This resource allows you to link directly to government
agencies or search by job title or name for both Federal and State Governments.

- Newspapers (ProQuest) (CSU Authentication Required)
- This database allows you to search for articles by article
types. On the first screen you will be able to select "Article Type"- select the
"interview" option. You will then find articles that give you interviews of a
person that have been conducted in news publications if any exist.

Lexis Nexis Academic (CSU
Authentication Required)
- You can search the transcripts of major news programs if
you are looking for interviews or quotes from figures in the news. Just go to
"News" and select the option for "transcripts" you can then just enter
the name of the person or the topic you want to find.

Factiva
- This database has
even more transcripts than lexis nexis including the Oprah Winfrey Show,
NPR and a variety of cable news network shows (CNN, FOX and MSNBC) To get
to them, just select Source and then in the pull down menu that says "Factiva
Group Category" select Publications by type. Scroll down until you
see the heading Transcripts and select.

- A nonprofit institution that helps improve policy and
decision making through research and analysis. The areas of research and analysis include
discussions in national defense, education and training, health care, criminal and civil
justice, labor and population, science and technology, community development,
international relations, and regional studies.

- This page will provide links to California Codes, History
and Culture information, and links to a variety of government agency pages.

Authentication Required)
- By going to "Legal Research" in
Lexis Nexis Academic, you can find commentary and analysis of legislation under the heading
"legal news" or actual case law and codes under each of the headings provided.

- This is the Public Policy database. You will find
analysis on all aspects of policy, including crime, social welfare and even international
issues.

- This site provides access to a variety of laws, law cases as
well as commentary by qualified individuals. A great source for cursory legal research.

- This web source is a good starting place for finding basic
information about a company. You can read the
"fact sheet" for free.

Lexis Nexis under "Business" and click on "company financials"

This organization also provides a variety
of content and information on their sites. This site wants you
to become a member to view full text of some documents such as particular
journal articles- but since you are an investigative reporter- you should
be able to find the articles in Lexis Nexis or Factiva
or Newspapers (Proquest) for FREE!
