- Getting ERIC
Documents

Since the CSULB Library
has cancelled the electronic version of the ERIC document collection you
can only get an ERIC Document one way:
1. Writing down the ED number
(e.g. ED596870) and physically go to the microfiche collection in the CSULB Library.
IMPORTANT EXCEPTION: The only exception
are ED records that are Books- these will not be found on microfiche. You must search the library catalog by author or
title to find books.
You can find out if it is a book by scrolling to the bottom of the record
and looking at the Record Type. If it is a book you can search COAST
to see if the library owns it. Here is what you are looking for:

Electronic Search
- This search will help you determine
if the library has a journal you need full text on the computer.
-
- 1. Have a citation from a research database or print
index/reference list and type in the name of the journal (e.g. journal
of special education). If the journal is available full text on the
computer it will be indicated by the results. Please note the years
of availability and match them to the year of your citation to ensure
your year is online!
-
- 2. If the journal is not full text on the
computer click on the Journal Title search to see if we have the item in
print.
