Sometimes finding theses written by former students or
students from other campuses can provide you with direction and a nice literature review.
To find a variety of dissertations locally as well as nationwide, please check out
the resources below:
- Dissertations Abstracts
(CSULB Authentication Required)
- This is an online listing of Doctoral dissertations and
masters theses from over 1,000 North American and European universities. Includes contents
of Comprehensive Dissertation Index, Dissertation Abstracts International, Masters
Abstracts International, and American Doctoral Dissertations. The best part of this
database is that for dissertations published after 1996 you can retrieve a free 24 page
preview, which can help you determine if it is useful for your research.

COAST
- By searching in COAST the library catalog you will be able
to find all of the theses published at CSULB. You can
see dissertations arranged by department OR do a
keyword
search for your topic and add the terms THESIS BEACH. For example: "literacy
thesis beach" gives me all the theses at CSULB that contain the term literacy.
