Tiffini A. Travis received her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of California at Los Angeles. She has been a member of the library faculty at CSU Long Beach since 1999. For the last four years she has been the Director of Information Literacy and Outreach Services. In this role, she provides outreach to on and off campus groups and facilitates student success and retention by arranging collaborative research and writing workshops at the library. In her time with the CSU system she has been awarded four Information Competence Grants and been a strong advocate for information literacy efforts at her campus. She has recently published a chapter that details her information literacy endeavors in the Winter 2008 issue of New Directions for Teaching and Learning. Her varied research interests include, social media, the evolution of instructional technologies and measuring the library’s role in student success. Recently she was named as one of the newest additions to ACRL’s nationally recognized Immersion Faculty. |
