Psychology of Sexuality (PSY 457)
This course focuses on understanding the typical developmental course of sexuality throughout the lifespan. Knowledge gained through empiricism is stressed by examining recent research in the field of sexuality. The importance of diversity issues is also a major theme woven throughout the course. Major topics include: Attitudes and feelings related to sexuality, sexual variations, gender identity, gender differences, sexual dysfunctions and treatment.
Introduction to Psychology (PSY 100)
This course is designed to provide an understanding of the scientific study of behavior. Approaches to data gathering and evaluating evidence about the causes of behavior are discussed. Students are given a broad background of the different areas of psychology. Some major topics include: research methodology, cognition, developmental psychology, learning, social psychology, clinical psychology, and sensation and perception.
Personality and
Social Behavior (PSY 150)
This course focuses
on how psychology applies to the self. Written
assignments and class discussions explore how the psychological principles
discovered through research are apparent in our everyday lives.
Issues of diversity are discussed with each unit.
An underlying goal of this GE course is to assist students with their
adjustment to university life through course content as well as being part of a
learning community.
