Primary sources are original documents or data.  A few examples of primary include first hand accounts, government statistics, personal narratives, letters, interviews, local or state propositions, legal cases, historical newspapers.

Government Documents  ::  Books  ::  Magazines & Journals  ::  Newspaper Articles :: Propositions, Law & Legal Cases

Government sources are the official publications of a sovereign nation. For example, the United States of America, Mexico, People's Republic of China.

It is REQUIRED that you use ONE of these resources when writing your interpretive essays:

US Citizenship & Immigration Services  (USCIS)


  SECONDARY SOURCES   What are they?

A secondary sources is a document that analyzes original data or documents and offers an interpretation. These sources may include a scholarly journal article, a book, a book chapter or a public policy web site.
