  • AND narrows a search
    • both variables must appear in same citation
    • terms are different in meaning

  • OR broadens a search
    • terms are similar in meaning

  • Allows for searching root word with variant endings
  • Example:

    • Create a research strategy using Boolean Logic.
    • Use Boolean connectors “and” “or” “not” to connect abstract concepts.
