FACTIVA
  • Access to nearly 8,000 publications in 22 languages
  • Access to over 20,000 company reports
  • Click on Companies/Markets
  • Search by company name or ticker symbol
  • Provides news articles, key competitors, SEC filings as well as other financial information by company

LEXIS NEXIS ACADEMIC
  • Access to newspapers, news wires, television news transcripts, business trade journals, and more
  • Access to corporate annual reports, stock reports, accounting information, and industry reports
  • From initial search screen click on Business (see top of screen)
  • Choose from options listed on left side of screen

MERGENT ONLINE
  • Access summary company records and EDGAR (Securities and Exchange Commission) files
  • Contains information on 11,000 U.S. public companies and 17,000 non-US public companies
  • Basic Search allows you to input the name or ticker symbol of your company
  • Advanced Search allows you to search on a wide range of criteria
  • Edgar Search allows you to search the SEC filings

TABLEBASE
  • TableBase offers tabular data on companies, industries, products and demographics. This database is international in scope and covers more than 90 industries.
  • Go to the Advanced Search option from the initial search screen.
  • Enter words and word phrases in the Word or Phrase field.  Words entered into the Word or Phrase field will search the full text, abstract, title and select descriptor fields.
  • When searching for information related to one or more companies enter company names in the Company Name field.
  • To enter multiple terms use AND, OR, NOT

VALUE LINE INVESTMENT SURVEY ONLINE
  • Access information and advice on approximately 1,700 stocks
  • Use the menu on the left side of the screen and click on Lookup Company
  • Search for the company by name or ticker symbol
  • Fill in Search BY
  • Click on OK
  • This will give you access to the report in PDF or HTML

  • Key Business Ratios

  • Value Line Investment Survey

IBISWorld
  • Access market research reports for about 680 U.S. industries written at the 5-digit level of NAICS.
  • Report includes key statistics, market characteristics, segmentation, industry conditions, performance and outlook.
  • Reports are written by industry specialists.

KEY BUSINESS RATIOS
  • Access to 14 annual financial performance ratios
  • Arranged by Standard Industrial Classification Codes
  • Use it to compare a company’s performance to the industry or to another company
  • From the initial search screen search by SIC or keywords in the line of business description
  • Use the tabs at the top of the screen to see the different groupings of ratios or select the Report tab to see all the data in one report that can be printed or exported

TABLEBASE
  • TableBase offers tabular data on companies, industries, products and demographics. This database is international in scope and covers more than 90 industries.
  • Go to the Advanced Search option from the initial search screen.
  • Enter words and word phrases in the Word or Phrase field.  Words entered into the Word or Phrase field will search the full text, abstract, title and select descriptor fields.
  • The Industry Name text-box provides over 90 different Industry Names to chose from.   Industry Names are collections of SICs/Product Codes that belong to a given industry.  Use Industry Names to limit your search to a relevant set of SICs/Product Codes.  To select an Industry Name, scroll through the text-box list and highlight the industry that is most appropriate to your search.  Use the Multi-Select feature to select more than one Industry Name from the scrolling text-box.

VALUE LINE INVESTMENT SURVEY ONLINE
  • Access information on more than 90 industries
  • Use the menu on the left side of the screen
  • Click on Lookup Industry
  • Enter the industry name or just choose from the list
  • To see the summary on an industry click on the page symbol   under the column titled Industry Commentary next to your industry

COAST: the CSULB Library’s online catalog
  • Provides access to books, journal titles, media, course reserves, government documents and other material the library holds.
  • Provides access to your library account and allows you to get a Library password.
  • A library password is needed to access all the library’s resources from home and to use the library’s interlibrary loan services called ILLiad.
  • Provides you access to Link+. Link+ allows you to search approximately 54 other library catalogs for books. By clicking on the link in the middle column of the library’s web site under the heading Services you can get to ILLiad and Link+. Link+ is the next best thing to finding the book here in our library. Link+ is only used for books not journal articles. If you need a journal article that we do not have use ILLiad.
