"HEAD START ON SCIENCE" NATIONAL NETWORK ACTIVATED!

THE FIRST TEN DISSEMINATION SITES
The National Center for Science in Early Childhood at California State University, Long Beach is pleased to announce that the first ten of a planned 20 or more “Head Start on Science” Training and Dissemination Centers are being established by teams of educators (named below) who participated in the Center’s Summer 2000 “Head Start on Science” Leadership Institute in Long Beach, CA.   Institute activities acquainted  the participants with the content and training approaches of the  “A Head Start on Science” project, and set the stage for establishing a national network of  Centers dedicated to making developmentally-appropriate science increasingly available to young children, their teachers, and their parents.  Support for the Leadership Institute and initial support of the national "Head Start on Science"  network are being provided by a grant from the American Honda Foundation, Inc.
