Beach Rugby finishes 2005 in style

The Long Beach State rugby team finished their Fall campaign taking two of the three matches.

The 49ers played host to a very stiff challenge from the USC Trojans losing 31-15. However, the following week after the Thanksgiving weekend, the team traveled to Irvine to take on the UC Irvine Anteaters. In a game played under lights, The Beach won 17-7.

Belmont Shore then played the 49ers in a scrimmage on December 10 at the CSULB Rugby Field.  The Beach finally finished their Fall season with the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs sliding into town. The 49ers won that match 46-5.

The CSULB Rugby Team players, coaching staff and alumni wish you Season's Greetings and best wishes for the New Year. The next match will kick off the Spring 2006 campaign, against the Occidental Tigers on Saturday, January 14 at the CSULB Rugby Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
