Beach Rugby hits jackpot, opens account with 32-14 victory over UNLV

Long Beach State, under the leadership of Dr. Emyr Williams and team president David Veta, were keen to evict the ghosts of last season. Three straight scrimmages in as many weeks paid off for the 49ers, as they opened the season with a 32-14 victory over UNLV.

Long Beach State will now head on a winning note as they host the CSULB Rugby Kickoff Tournament on November 10, 2007. The all-day tournament begins at approximately 9:00 a.m. and will go on into the afternoon.
