Beach Rugby ends the SCRFU season on a good note against the Aztecs

The Long Beach State 49er Rugby Varsity XV finished their Southern California Rugby Football Union (SCRFU) University Division 1 season with the A and B sides taking on the visiting Aztecs of San Diego State University.

The A side placed in a scrappy performance. Up 22-15 in injury time, SDSU scored to level the game at 22-22. The B side defeated the Aztecs handily, 35-18 to finish the season with a 7-1 record.

Dr. F. King Alexander, President of California State University, Long Beach, was among many in attendance for Saturday's event.

The Beach will finish the 2005-06 rugby season with a match against the Alumni side on Saturday, May 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the CSULB Rugby Field.
