The Long Beach State 49ers placed in their most valiant efforts against the Cal Poly SLO Mustangs and the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos, two traditional powerhouses in the Southern California Rugby Football Union.

Cal Poly WON 46 to 15, on March 11 at the CSULB Rugby Field, on a cool spring afternoon. The following week saw the 49er “A” side place in a gritty performance in the 1st half before bowing down to UCSB, 40-7. The “B” side, however, brought in a consolation victory, defeating the Gauchos in a well-earned 17-5 victory.

Long Beach State will conclude their SCRFU Division I season on Saturday March 25th against the San Diego State Aztecs at the CSULB Rugby Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

The 2005-06 Rugby season will conclude with the Alumni Game on May 13 at the CSULB Rugby Field. Kickoff for that game is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
