Losing streak up to 5, falling 45-5 to UCLA

Words cannot describe the collapse of Long Beach State's 2006-07 rugby season. In fact, the results may as well speak for themselves.

The 49ers dropped their fifth straight match, losing to UCLA 45-5 at Westwood, on March 11, 2007. As the men's basketball team watched where they would be in the Big Dance down the road on campus, they were oblivious to the fact that the Bruins were one of a number of teams danced all around the porous Long Beach first side's defense all season.

The player who scored the lone try for the Beach was unavailable at this time of writing.

Long Beach State hobbles home to take on the Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara for the home finale on St. Patrick's Day, Saturday, March 17, at the CSULB Rugby Field. Kickoff is schedules for 1:00 p.m.
