LOng Beach State's trip to Arizona was a trip that they would rather forget. On Friday, February 29, the 49ers faced the Arizona Wildcats under the lights in Tucson in a rare night match for the BEach. The home field advantage was too much for Dr. Emyr Williams's young men to overcome, as a penalty goal by Geoff Pound accounted for the only points for the visitors in a 41-3 rout by U of A.
On Sunday, the 49ers completed their tour of Arizona in a tough defeat to the Arizona State Sun Devils. ASU rolled to a 26-12 victory over LBSU.
With the defeats, the Beach drops to 6-7, 3-3 in the SCRFU (16 points). The 49ers will host league leaders Cal Poly on Saturday, March 8. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on the CSULB Rugby Field
