UC San Diego falls to the Beach, 25-12

The Long Beach State 49ers continued their 2008 SCRFU campaign in La Jolla against the UC San Diego Tritons, winning 25-12. Tries were scored by Tetsuo Ozeki, Culbertson and Bothelo. Jeff Pound converted 2 tries, and also slotted a couple of penalties for the Beach, who improved to 5-4, 2-0 SCRFU (9 points total).

The reserves also defeated the Tritons, 24-5, in a match called early due to lighting.

The 49ers will next be in action on Saturday, February 16, against the UCLA Bruins. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on the CSULB Rugby Field
