An e-mail account is an absolute requirement for the class. An account on the CSULB system is free to students and is accessible anywhere through webmail (you need only point your browser to http://webmail.csulb.edu). You get an account by going over to the North Campus Center/New Media Center, ID card in hand. The whole process takes just a few minutes. It is okay to use an off-campus e-mail account, too, but AOL accounts do not work well with the class listserver (so you'll have to build an address book for the class on your own by copying everyone's e-mail into it).
