Set Web Preferences

  1. While you may work directly from the folder created on your machine's hard drive, it's best to drag and drop a copy onto your own personal floppy disk.
  2. Launch Netscape Navigator by double clicking on the Netscape Preferences icon.
  3. Try not to be confused by the various messages that appear. Use Cancel button as needed to progress further.
  4. Under menu bar Option, select Mail and News Preferences entry.
  5. Identity Tab. For Your Email, enter your login name followed by "@csulb.edu" (no spaces).
  6. Servers Tab. For POP User ID, enter only your login name.
  7. If you customize the hard drive files, be sure to erase them when you leave, or others may have access to your personal information.
Once you have customized your own disk, you may use it to automatically read your e-mail each time you launch Netscape Navigator. Note that your incoming and outgoing mail will be saved in your Netscape folder. You may then proceed to the menu bar File list and use the New Web Browser entry to access Web pages.
