Getting Started with BeachBoard
BeachBoard is CSULB’s e-learning environment. There you will find course materials and assignments for my ALP and English Courses.
Vocabulary Practice
Once you have logged on, you will find some supplemental materials to support the class. Under Assignments, ALP and English 301A students will find vocabulary quizzes that practice academic vocabulary. Take the quizzes as many times as you wish. The Random quizzes are different each time you take them.

- Here are some tips for taking a quiz on BeachBoard.
Missing a Course?
- Courses from the current semester are listed under My Courses and are removed two weeks after the semester ends. To view a BeachBoard course from a previous semester, please contact the course instructor.
- If you have recently enrolled in a course through Enrollment Services, please note that it takes a minimum of one business day for this course to appear under My Courses. For example, if you add a course on Tuesday, the course will not appear in BeachBoard until Wednesday.
- Also, if you drop or are administratively dropped from a course, you will disappear from My Courses. Your instructor, BeachBoard Services, or the Technology Help Desk cannot (even temporarily) "re-enable" your access to a dropped course. The only way you can access a dropped course on BeachBoard is to re-enroll in that course through Enrollment Services.
