1516 – First recorded case of smallpox reaches Caribbean

1518 – Disease spreads from Hispaniola > Puerto Rico> Cuba

1520-1524 – Disease spreads from Cuba (with Narvaez)> Mexico>  central and southern America > southwestern north America,
                        constituting a hemispheric “pandemic
 
1592-1593 – Major pandemic spreads from Valley of Mexico > eastern Great Lakes > southern New England

1639 – Disease affects French and British northeastern America
1646 – Florida, northern frontier of New Spain affected
1649/1650 – Epidemic spreads through tribes in NE north America, including Iroquois and Huron

1662-1663 – Disease spreads from Iroquois > Delaware
1665-1667 – tribes along eastern seaboard affected, from Florida> Virginia

1667-1691 – Texas tribes greatly affected
1696-1699 – SE and Gulf coast tribes decimated
1701-1703 – Disease spreads from New England > Illinois

1729-1733 – New England, Creeks, and California tribes affected
1738-1739 – Texas mission Indians, southeastern tribes north > Hudson Bay
 
1762-1766 – Central Mexico>Texas>Southeastern North America> Iroquois, Potawatomi, Kickapoo, Miami, Shawnee, west>  NW north American tribes

1779-1783 – Major pandemic sweeps from Valley of Mexico throughout much of north America
