Description of Research: |
- Conducting studies on the
mammalian brain.
- Brain neurotransmitter systems
and their role in controlling behavioral and physiological responses.
- Characteristics of brain function
during the hibernation state.

Willing to
supervise up to 3 graduate or undergraduate students and will offer Psy
499 (independent study) units to long term student assistants. |

Requirements: |
- Students should have completed
the following courses: Psy 141, Psy 110, Psy 200, Psy 342, Psy 340,
and Psy 441.
- Should have a GPA of 3.0 or
better.
- Background in hard science
preferred, but not absolutely necessary.
- Research associates should be
able to work 10-15 hours/week. Library paper researchers should be
able to work 5-10 hours/week.
- Should be skilled at academic
work, utilizing time efficiently, setting personal goals, and
achieving personal goals.

Participation Descriptions: |
Research Assistants:
- Collecting and analyzing data.
- Preparing work for publication.
- Intra-cerebral microinjection and micro infusion of
neurally active compounds in behaviorally active animals.
Library Paper Researchers:
- Involved in researching a topic dealing with
neurotransmitter functions
- Writing a review paper.
