The Impact of Framing Effects and Level of Need for Cognition on Organ Donation Decisions

This study investigated whether written framing of information modulated by Need for Cognition (NFC) would have an effect on organ donation decisions. Logistic regression was used to predict the likelihood of decision choices for a loved one and oneself based on the interaction of NFC status and framing condition.
No differences in predictive power were found based on the main hypothesis.

Socially situated cognitive perceptions regarding organ donation were also obtained. Post-hoc testing of associations in that survey data was performed. These findings suggest possibilities for future research.
