Human Resources Manager for PureOlogy Research, LLC. This company does R&D,
Marketing, Sales and Education for luxury hair care products. Founded in
2001, PureOlogy is slated to move internationally into Europe in 2006 and
double in size in the next 3 years. As the Human Resources Manager I am
responsible for all aspects of the strategic planning from a personnel
perspective that will allow the company to achieve this goal. This includes
recruitment & retention programs, employee training, and organizational
structure and development.
My degree in I/O Psych with an emphasis in personnel selection has been of
great benefit to me in growing the mindset of this company from a small,
family owned company to a professional corporation that can compete and excel
in the international marketplace. My thesis dealt with applicant reactions to
biodata employment testing. I took my knowledge of employment testing and
selection, gained at CSULB, and moved into the corporate in-house recruiting
arena. From there, I moved on to PureOlogy where I have been able to
demonstrate that in order for a company to grow, succeed and move to the next
level it is vitally important to find and bring on board people with the
skills and foresight to take you to that next level. In addition, a company
needs to grow the skills of current employees to allow them to be an asset in
the company's growth.
On the personal side, I am happily married to my wonderful husband Gary (ya -
like he hasn't heard every Cary Grant joke you can think of... His father
wanted to name him Cary but Mom said "No Way!", so they went with Gary after
Gary Cooper - his father's favorite actor). I also have an adorable 8 year
old adopted son, Murphy who has 4 legs, floppy ears and a short stubby Cocker
Spaniel tail who looks just like his Mother.
I believe that a MA in I/O Psych can open a multitude of doors for you and
