From the Political Science Alumni Association:
Welcome Alumni and New Graduates! We would like to take the opportunity
to congratulate those graduating this year. It is a fine accomplishment
and you should be proud. We hope you will find the time in your
busy schedule to join us or attend our activities.
We have done some exciting things in the past. Some things serious:
sponsoring Law Career Panels for students, featured faculty debates on
NAFTA, Dr.'s Hardy and Leiter on the Clinton Election, and election forums.
Some things for fun: Theatre night out, Canoe Toss at Kaleidoscope '97.
Last Fall we held a tribute reception for Dr. Leroy Hardy at the El Dorado
Country Club and last summer we sold food at the Boda de Los Alamitos Rancho.
This year we look forward to planning new events. Here is a sample of
our agenda:
-
Upcoming Book of the Month Club. We'll be meeting the First Thursday of
every other month. Our first meeting will be on August 7th,
at 7:00 pm at Borders (at Stearns and Bellflower). The featured book will
be The Next War by Caspar Weinberger. Please read before you get
there!
-
Mentoring Program
-
Political Debate
-
Participation in Kaleidoscope 1998. Look for us on the Alumni Brick Walk!
-
A welcome for the Political Science Graduates at Commencement of 1998.
Any ideas? Don't be shy. Graduation is an exciting time. We wish the new
Alums the best of luck.
