Welcome to Woodwind Studies at California State University, Long Beach.

The Department of Music offers a comprehensive curriculum for all woodwind instruments which includes private lessons, master classes, solo performances, chamber ensembles, flute choir, saxophone ensemble, and clarinet choir. Many of these groups have been recognized both nationally and internationally. The goal of woodwind chamber music is to expose students to all genres and styles of musical performance. These chamber groups are regularly scheduled classes that meet and perform public and outreach concerts every semester.

The ensembles available to woodwind students include:

• The University Wind Quintet (an auditioned group of the finest wind performers in the department which includes a scholarship award)
• Woodwind Ensembles open to all students
