HOW CAN A WOMAN LOWER HER C-16 ESTROGEN LEVEL?

Dr Jon Michnovicz at Rockefeller University discovered that women with a family history of breast cancer had significantly high levels of C-16 in their blood.(Bradlow and Michnovicz, 1989) Now, if this is true, then comes the important question: How can a woman lower her blood C-16 level? Frisch at Harvard Medical School found that one way is by exercise.(Frisch, 1987) Another way is to take the (antiestrogenic) prescription drug called 4 hydroxy-tamoxifen (or simply tamoxifen) which binds to the DNA chromosomal material in a fashion similar to the safe estrodiol breakdown product. Use of this drug has been observed to reduce the incidence of breast cancer and also to reduce the growth rate of existing breast cancer cells by 30-40%.(Nayfield 1991, Han 1992) But perhaps even more importantly, a good diet can reduce the formation of C-16.(Byers and Graham 1984, Musey et al 1987)
