There is also a substance called sulforaphane, found especially in Brassica vegetables such as brocolli, that stimulates enzymes in the liver to break down such dangerous carcinogens as aflatoxin and polybrominated biphenyls. Limonene, found in citrus fruits, and lignan, found in whole grains, have also been observed to slow, stop, or even reverse the growth of steroid-involved malignant tumors. (Aldercreutz, 1984)
