PROFESSOR & GRAD ADVISOR

Advising Appointments

You may schedule an appointment with the Graduate Advisor,
Dr. Tracy Bradley Maples, using the on-line tool below.

Sign-ups for Fall 2014 Graduate advising appointments will begin on Friday, August 1st.

What to bring

Please note that appointments are only 10 minutes long so it is essential that you arrive for your appointment with all necessary materials. Please bring the following with you to each Graduate Appointment:

  1. Your Advising Snapshot (see ‘Links & Forms’ to download a copy),
  2. A copy of your CSULB Unofficial Transcript, and
  3. Any forms that you need signed (for example, Advancement to Candidacy, OPT or CPT, Leave of Absence, etc).
Walk-ins

Some dedicated “Walk-in” appointment times will be available. It is recommended that you arrive at the beginning of the “Walk-in” periods, as people will be seen on a first come, first served (FCFS) basis and there may not be time to see those who arrive late.

Mandatory Advising

All students must see their advisor at least once per Academic Year.

Additional advising is required if:
You are placed on Academic Probation (your GPA falls below 3.0)
You do not finish your Deficiencies within one year.
Your unit count exceeds 30 units.
