I am a proud resident of Long Beach. I appreciate the weather here, the wonderful sense of community within the city, and my short commute!

My husband, the other Dr. Maples (Charles M. Maples, D.O.), and I have been married for 23 years. He is a private practice physician in Los Alamitos. His specialty is in Family Practice. Check out his website www.drmaples.com.

We love pets and our miniature red poodles William and Harry are always fun and keep us very busy! The most "famous" member of our family was our black standard poodle Guinevere. Guin starred in a Honda Civic commercial and has filmed a movie with Linda Hamilton.

Her career was made possible because my sister-in-law, Tammy Maples, and her partner, Joe Camp, own and run Jungle Exotics a company that trains animals for movies and television. They own and have trained "Mr. Bigglesworth" (Real name: Ted Nude-gent) the hairless Spinx cat from the "Austin Powers" movies. They are currently raised two baby tigers and a baby white lion.
TRAVEL

My family and I love to travel! We take every chance we can to visit new cities and countries and, of course, our old favorites: Hawaii, the United Kingdom and Italy.

LITERATURE

Whenever I can afford the time, I like to sit down with a good book and read and read and read... Some of my favorites are:

• J.K. Rowling's, "Harry Potter" Books.
• Mysteries by Sue Grafton, P.D. James, and Jan Burke (a CSULB Alum).
• Jane Austen's novels, especially Pride and Predjudice and Persuasion.
• Ted Loder's, "Guerilla's of Grace" and anything written by C. S. Lewis.
