    Brief Biography of Yechiel Shalom Goldberg 

    Yechyiel Shalom Goldberg will join the Religious Studies Department at California State University, Long Beach, as an assistant professor in the fall semester 2002. He is currently teaching "Hell and Heavan in Judaism" and "Introduction to Jewish Mysticism" at Indiana University. He received a B.A. in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies and Philosophy from Brandeis University and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Hebrew and Jewish Studies from New York University in 2001. His specialties are Jewish Spirituality and Kabbalah. His dissertation is entitled "Mystical Union, Individuality, and Individuation in Provencal and Catalonian Kabbalah."
