Inland Chumash Village Research

Over the last few years, I have been conducting ethnohistoric research on Inland Chumash Village sites. The purpose of this effort has been directed towards a better understanding of the cultural ecology of this population. In addition, I have experimented with simulation studies to investigate the relationship between climate and prehistoric and ethnohistoric settlement patterns. My students and I have conducted geophysical surveys at sites under the administration of the National Forest Service. Future archaeological excavation will be targeted on identified magnetic anomalies.
