PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION COURSES
The following SB 2042 Single Subject PROGRAM applies to
all students who apply and are admitted to the single subject credential
program beginning Fall 2003.
Students who were admitted to the single subject credential prior to
Fall 2003 fall under the RYAN credential program and come under the
requirements for the RYAN credential (for questions regarding the RYAN program
please see Dr. Karen Hakim-Butt or inquire at the Single Subject Credential
office).
PREREQUISITE: Application to the Program is made as part of this course
EDSS 300 P Introduction to Teaching in Physical Education
COREQUISITES: Can be taken prior to, concurrent with, or after EDSS 300 P
HSC 411 B Health Science for Secondary Teachers
Ed P 350 Education of Exceptional Individuals
Ed P 301 or 302 OR 305 Child / Adolescent Development / Educational Psychology
Level 1 Technology Can be met by course (KPE 354 or ETEC 444) or
Exam (SSAT in Preliminary Educational Technology)
CORE REQUIREMENTS: Students must be admitted to the Single Subject
Program
in order to take these courses
EDSE 435 U. S. Secondary Schools: Intercultural Education
EDSE 436 Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment, and Classroom Management
EDSE 457 Reading and Writing in the Secondary School
EDSS 450 P Curriculum and Methods in Teaching Physical Education
All
sections of CBEST, and completed all core
Requirements
with a 3.0 overall GPA and a
B (3.0) or
better in EDSS 450 P
EDSS 472 A, B, C Student Teaching (15)
