Points will not be given for work not turned in. Points will be deducted for late work; and assignments will not be accepted more than 2 school days (not class days) late unless prior arrangements have been made for special circumstances.A = 90 - 100%
B = 80 - 90%
C = 60 - 80%
D = 50 - 60%
F = below 50%
Assignments:
You may assist other classmates in anyway, BUT all work turned in MUST have been done by you personally.Points will be deducted for late work – 5 points per day.
Term Paper:
In addition to the assignments, you will be required to write a short biographical term paper on two cartographers. The paper shall be 3 to 5 pages in length and doubled-spaced for EACH person. The report shall cover the major aspects of his/her life, why this person is important to cartography, and what were/are some of the major contributions this person made to the field. Each person in the class should have a different cartographer. A sign up sheet will be provided with a list of cartographers.The bibliography should have 3 to 5 references. Books, CD’s and web pages can be used. When referencing the web page, be sure to list the entire URL (http://www.aag.org etc.) and the date that you retrieved the information.
Exams:
There will be two exams: a Midterm and a Final. Question will be based on lectures, readings and lab assignments and may consist of essays, short answer questions, definitions, and technical problems.
