Working at Home
  • If you want to do your computer work from home or another location, you will need access to an Internet Service provider, such as CompuServe, America On-Line, or Prodigy.
  • To access our class discussion group (csulb.courses.phil452) from a commercial provider, you will need a password. Send me an e-mail message or check with me in class, and I will tell you what it is.
  • As a registered student, you are also eligible to obtain Internet access through Sprintlink on Campus for $12.50/month. A kiosk for enrolling in Sprintlink is located in the Library East corridor. You can also enroll on-line through the Sprintlink on Campus web site.
  • You can continue to use your CSULB e-mail address with Sprintlink and do not need to purchase a new one from them.
  • Sprintlink has local telephone access numbers in the 310, 213, and 818 area codes, and will soon add them for the 714 area code.
  • Your computer needs a high-speed modem, at least 14.4 bps and preferably 28.8 bps so you can download the Web's graphics files at a reasonable speed.
