Welcome to my new Yellowstone pages. These are a compilation of my old pages with newly scanned images, all from our July 1994 trip. In order to speed the loading process no image is over 350 pixels wide or tall.

Yellowstone National Park is the oldest National Park in the system, having been established in March of 1872. It is also one of the largest I have ever visited. Probably due to that size there is no shuttle bus system in the park, so be prepared to drive almost an hour to get from one major site to another. To see most (but no where near all) of Yellowstone I would recommend that you stay at least 4 nights.

Yellowstone has more than boiling mud pots and geysers. It also has its own version of the Grand Canyon, waterfalls, miles of hiking trails, a huge lake, bison, antelope and other animals as well as an abundance of lake trout waiting for catch and release fishing. It also has white pelicans. Very interesting.

Even the buildings in Yellowstone are big and somewhat unusual. Old Faithful Inn is one of the oldest buildings in the system and to me one of the most interesting. We stayed at the Lake Lodge Cabins, within walking distance of the edge of Yellowstone Lake, if you don't mind dodging a few bison here and there.
