Grand Canyon National Park is another of my favorite places to visit. Not just for the views, but also for the historic buildings it has, like the El Tovar Hotel and the gift shop styled after a Hopi building. It is now served by a real steam or diesel powered train running from the city of Willams over the original refurbished tracks. When these photos were taken only the station was under re-construction.

All of my photos are taken from the south rim and rim trail. Personally, I like to visit during the "monsoon season" (late summer) when you can watch thunderstorms build over the canyon all day. They are pretty nasty, but right after they pass is a great time for hiking the rim.

The following are photos taken from the rim trail from a previous trip around 1973. The best method to traverse its entire length today is to jump on the free shuttle system and then walk from one major point of interest to the next.
