Introduction
Dr. Jacqueline W. Mills is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at California State University – Long Beach. She joined the department in 2009. Prior to this appointment, she held teaching and research positions at the University of Southern California and Louisiana State University. Dr. Mills uses Geographic Information Science (GIS) approaches to study hazards and the urban environment, with a particular emphasis on Southern California and the American South. She also has interests in health, land use, policy, and historical geography as they relate to hazards and the urban environment.
