Dr. H. Michael Chung is Professor of Information Systems in the College of Business Administration, California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). He is also Director of the Center for Information Strategies and Technologies (CIST). He received his Ph.D. and MBA from UCLA and worked at IBM. Before coming back to California, he was a professor at Graduate School of Business, Texas A & M University, College Station. He was a distinguished visiting professor in Japan and had visiting positions in Mexico, Austria and Thailand earlier. At CSULB, he had served as Director of Graduate Programs and Executive Education and, earlier, Department Chair. He received IBM Fellowship, E. W. Carter Award, Association for Information Systems Award, and Society for Information Management Award. His current research interests are ‘Strategic Management of information Technologies,’ ‘Data Mining,’ ‘Distributed Systems,’ ‘Corporate Performance Measurement,’ and ‘Social Entrepreneurship.’ He is a senior editor of Journal of Information Technology and Management. In 2000, he was Conference Chair of the annual Association for Information Systems Conference. His research and development projects were funded by Hewlett Packard, Verizon, Boeing, Honda, and GMAC among others.
