STRATEGY #9

Scanning is a reading strategy whereby you

don't read the whole text but

just look for specific information.

At this point, to develop your competence in German reading, a good strategy is to attack the text:

• Scan the text first for information that you easily understand.

• Underline international words, cognates (even if they're parts of words), numbers, places, names, etc.
