Vom 17.-20 Mai 2002 findet bereits zum 7. Mal der Berliner Karneval der Kulturen statt. Beim 4-tägigen Straßenfest rund um den Kreuzberger Blücherplatz präsentieren sich 4 Weltregionen auf 4 phantasievoll dekorierten Bühnen, dazu gibt es Kulinarisches aus aller Welt.
Am Pfingstsonntag startet der legendäre Karnevalsumzug ab dem Hermannplatz. Über 4000 Akteure aus mehr als 80 Ländern präsentieren in zahlreichen Formationen eine überwältigende Vielfalt an Musikstilen und Tanzstilen, Kostümen, Masken und Requisiten.
